Madhumita Acharya Biswas is a distinguished vocalist specializing in Geet, Ghazal, and Bhajan, with formal training in Indian classical music. She began her musical journey under the guidance of her mother, Late Sabita Acharya of the Bishnupur Gharana, and later refined her skills under renowned mentors such as Pandit Subodh Dubey, Shrimati Sabita Roy, and Pandit Jwala Prasad.
Her illustrious career includes performances on Doordarshan, All India Radio, and international stages, where she has captivated audiences with her soulful renditions. Madhumita has recorded multiple albums across various genres, including Hindi Bhajans, Bengali devotional songs, and Sindhi Sufi music. She has also served as a music trainer for the World Culture Festival and has judged prestigious competitions, including those organized by the Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
Madhumita has received numerous accolades for her contributions to music, including recognition for her performances at Probasi Bharatiya Diwas in Ahmedabad, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and international concerts in Myanmar, Egypt, and Qatar on behalf of the ndian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR).
